Mornings of the Magician

Unlike other magicians in the family, my father was a private magician, the pancake was his philosopher’s stone. In this interactive non-fiction, idiosyncratic culinary rituals are explored through family history and a metaphorical framework of alchemy. Mornings of the Magician was written, designed, animated by Carl Diehl and produced as a video in 2017, then adapted for the web with Twine in 2023.
